(2) Comment The world’s top 10 spamming countries account for 55 per cent of the total global spam volume, says Secure Computing, a public company that provides enterprise security solution, in its Internet Threats Report.
Spam is the unwanted e-mail messages that you find in your mail box. It is primarily electronic junk mail sent to your e-mail account or even your cellphone.
Spammers are continuing to use pop culture and current events (US elections, Olympics, etc) to entice end users into responding or clicking on links whose sole purpose is to download malware.
The Secure Research report says that there was a 45 per cent increase in the average number of porn sites found daily since January 2008.
50 pre cent of all Web sites’ content is now in non-English languages, and this too is adding to the growing spam volume.

Meet the Brit man who is turning into a woman - naturally!

(7) Comment A Brit man is seeking help from medical experts after he started turning into a woman naturally.
Pub singer Terry Wright started losing his hair and beard ten years ago and since then he has developed smooth skin, hot flushes and boobs.
The father-of-five has revealed that kids living nearby make fun him by calling him ‘She-Man’.
According to his blood tests, the 60-year-old has abnormally high levels of the female hormone oestrogen.
And doctors who have examined him say that they have never seen such a case - and do not know what to do to reverse the process.
Wright, of Birmingham, is now begging medical experts to help him.
“I am a man, not a woman. And I do not want to be a woman. I just want to get my life back to normal,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

New AIDS Threat Emerging in India Among ‘Call Center Romeos’

A new AIDS threat is rising in India’s numerous call centers, where young staff are increasingly having unprotected sex with multiple partners in affairs developed during night shifts, a top AIDS expert has warned. While India has made great strides in bringing down its HIV infection rate, the promiscuity among “call center Romeos” is a great concern, Dr.
Suniti Solomon, who detected the first HIV case in India in 1986, told an international medical conference Saturday. The United Nations, however, still estimates there are some 2.5 million Indians living with HIV and AIDS now.
“India has reached a plateau of the infections,” Solomon told the International Congress on Infectious Diseases, which ends Sunday. Her concern now is the call centers, where many of the young staff work at night to correspond with the daytime working hours of their American and European clients.

Launch of British Dental Bleaching Society

(6) Comment A new dental association has been launched in response to the increasing public demand for teeth whitening.
The British Dental Bleaching Society (BDBS), was launched at the World’s Aesthetic Congress on Friday by Linda Greenwall, editor of Aesthetics Dentistry Today and a specialist in prosthodontics and restorative dentistry.
Chaired by Ms Greenwall, the BDBS board includes representatives of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and the European Scientific Committee on Cosmetic Products and Non-Food Products Intended for Consumers (SCCNFP).
The BDBS aims to ‘educate dentists and the entire team about bleaching and teeth whitening’ whilst meeting the needs of dentists who want to stay up-to-date and informed of the latest clinical procedures, techniques and rulings, Ms Greenwall said, as well as lobbying for stricter enforcements of rulings over who can administer teeth bleaching.
