(3) Comment Science and technology constantly evolve and always broaden the scope of all knowledge. Dentistry has also evolved and a one aspect of dentistry has grown into a discipline of its own known as aesthetic dentistry.
The tremendous improvement of materials used in dentistry has made it possible for us to now replicate tooth structure very minutely in terms of shape, color, texture, size, physical properties and to a certain extent even chemical properties. This advent of material sciences now gives us the dentist, enough leeway to play around with the dentition and alter its structure and relationship to the face. A dentist who had delved deep into this aspect and can bring about a total change in a persons appearance just by modifying the shape, size and color of the teeth is an COSMETIC DENTIST.
