Ever Heard of Healthier Smoking???

Electronic cigarette is a healthy alternative cigarette. It feels & looks like regular cigarettes, except it contains aboslutely no tobacco and carcinogens.

I surprised to see the new modernized version of a cigarette; Electronic Cigarette is a device that simulates the functions of a cigarette without the harmful chemicals. it uses a small replacable cartridge filled with a small dose of nicotine and propylene glycol powered by a rechargable battery. When the user inhales on the device, the air flow is detected by a sensor. A microprocessor then activates an atomizer which injects tiny droplets of the liquid into the flowing air and vapourises the liquid. Each cartridge is equivalent to 5-6 regular cigarettes, and it costs less then a toonie each.

What Everybody Ought to Know About Asthma

Posted by User ImageDr. Teeth 23 April, 2008 (4) Comment

Asthma is the most common chronic disease among children. Asthma triggers include viral infections; environmental pollutants, such as tobacco smoke; certain medications, (aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), and sustained exercise, particularly in cold environments.

Diagnosis

History

Symptoms of asthma may include episodic complaints of breathing difficulties, seasonal or nighttime cough, prolonged shortness of breath after a respiratory infection, or difficulty sustaining exercise.

Wheezing does not always represent asthma. Wheezing may persist for weeks after an acute bronchitis episode. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease may have a reversible component superimposed on their fixed obstruction. Etiologic clues include a personal history of allergic disease, such as rhinitis or atopic dermatitis, and a family history of allergic disease.

The frequency of daytime and nighttime symptoms, duration of exacerbations and asthma triggers should be assessed.
