(4) Comment The Centre would recognise foreign post-graduate degrees in medicine by English speaking countries, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Anbumani Ramadoss said here today. “As a move to encourage Indian doctors who pursue further studies abroad to come back and practice here, we will recognise foreign post-graduate degrees in medicine by English speaking countries, starting with five (countries) to begin with,” he said at the convocation of National Board of Examinations under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The five nations are UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, he said adding it would be followed by Singapore and European countries. “Initially it will be a unilateral recognition.
So, whats next - Indian govt. has finally given some sort of relief for the Medico’s getting trained Internationally. And i hope the few other major countries are added to the list soon. This will definitely be a boost to the International Universities attracting Indian students for the PG program.
