Google Adsense Referrals Retiring This August

Google recently acquired the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate operations in March 2008 and hence terminating the Adsense Referrals program this August last week.

They have officially announced this and advised all the users to remove the referral code from their websites or alternatively sign up with their partner, DoubleClick.

However the rules are slightly changed, previously we were allowed 3 content ad units plus referral ad units on a single page, but now you can have only 3 ad units in total.

AdSense for content ads: If you have less than three AdSense
for content ad units on a page, you may wish to replace the
referral ad units with standard AFC ad units.

If you currently use referral ads, either to promote Google products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, AdSense Referrals code will no longer display ads beginning the last week of August.

Let me suggest you few money making tips i learnt in the past few days as a blogger. I pass on few credits to my brother and fellow blogger from Germany, Alem.

Money doesn’t flow easily as far as blogging is concerned, you need to work hard, work consistently and have some patience.
Let me warn you, once you get your blog rolling you aren’t looking behind. So, have your stay around and keep blogging.

1. Get Sponsors for your Blog

Once your blog starts getting traffic, try and contact private companies that are operating in your niche area and get them to sponsor your blog. Even if its for a small amount, it adds up to your blog earnings. Gradually, when your blog ranks higher on the search engines, there are chances of getting better and high-paying sponsors. Try and provide all the details about your blog like traffic stats, search engine rankings, specialization area, unique visitors and keyword popularity. Also mention how your blog will help them in promoting their brand products. Do not get disheartened if you fail to get sponsors for the first time. Keep trying and make targets for yourself.
