Hard Time with Indiatimes and SignDomains!
Dr. Teeth 7 July, 2008 You might be wondering what the heck happened to DentoCafe.com!
This is the 4th day the forum is down and i am very disappointed.
All the credit goes to Indiatimes.com and Signdomains.com.
About an year back i had registered two of my domains at Indiatimes.com website and its been going fine till now until i had to change the nameservers last week. Sigdomains has a reseller account with Indiatimes and when i registered i received the control panel from Signdomains.com/Indiatimes/
I have been struggling to see my site up, my host was also very anxious to know as to why it’s taking such a long time for changing the nameservers. I had shot them numerous mails with no response at all, finally i gave them a call today and was told that the issue would be taken care of.
After few minutes i get an email from Signdomains.com that my domains come under Indiatimes server and i need to contact them. Indiatimes.com support is just irresponsible and didn’t care even to send an acknowledgment. Upon arguing with Signdomains.com , they say that Indiatimes is one of their reseller account and they cannot do anything except sending a dumb mail from my behalf.
In few hours i see that the homepage of Dentocafe.com comes up with a renewal pending notice, that came as a huge shock for me because just a fortnight ago i had renewed the domain and made the payment to signdomains.com upon their invoice.
So, is it our fault of registering with Indiatimes.com or Signdomains.com in that case?
I am very disappointed and angry on this issue, if i had been in USA they would have definitely received a legal from my side. You just got lucky Indiatimes.com!
Now, you guys know which domain registrar to choose and which one’s to avoid. I wish you don’t come across a situation like me anytime!

The nicest compliment that you can give me is to to subscribe to the Dental Blogging Newsletter. Thanks for visiting!

Faheem, thanks for informing us and making us aware of certain situations which we are totally unaware of or do not bother to check/know.
Where to register and which to avoid is very difficult to choose; for a non-techie, it is more difficult.
Thanks for the heads up Dr. Teeth. I’m in the U.S., so I wouldn’t register with Signdomains of Indiatimes anyway, but it’s always good to write about what you perceive to be injustices. That’s a great way to hold them accountable for their actions.
Unfortunately, I have yet to find the perfect host. Just when I thought I did they decided to bring down the site for server maintenance. They don’t understand that a site being down can be catastrophic for SERPs, and ultimately business.
Yea i know signing up on domains can be a very tedious process. But even after paying you get that kind of service its not worth it . Yeah i guess i would be putting up my charges against godaddy its more dedicated than indian server.
Hey why don’t you try my referal he is giving like good domains at low prices let me know if you want details
