16 Bomb Blasts Rocked Indian City Today Claiming 32 Innocent Lives

At least 16 small bombs exploded in the Indian city of Ahmedabad on Saturday, killing at least 32 people and wounding more than 150, a day after another set of blasts in the country’s IT hub.

On Friday, eight bombs exploded in quick succession in the southern information technology city of Bangalore, killing at least one person and wounding six others.

Saturday’s blasts were in Ahmedabad’s crowded old city dominated by its Muslim community. “The blasts occurred in 90 minutes, one in a hospital, others in the old city of Ahmedabad,” Narendra Modi, the state’s Hindu-nationalist chief minister told reporters.

There were two separate series of bombings, the first near busy market places. A second quick succession of bombs went off 20 to 25 minutes later around a hospital, where at least six people died, police said.

Parmar, joint commissioner of Ahmedbad police said that the police are on the lookout for more live bombs. The explosions occurred at Maninagar, Isanpur, Narol circle, Bapunagar, Hatkeshwar and Sarangpur bridge, Sarkej and Odhav and created a wave of panic.

Crowded areas including market places were hit in the synchronised ‘low-intensity’ explosions in a space of 60 to 70 minutes after the first blast hit Maninagar at 6.45 pm. The bombs placed in tiffin boxes were strapped on to bicycles. Some of the blast sites were in sensitive areas in the old city but the situation was peaceful as the night wore on.

If I have read about bomb at certain places I wouldn’t go at all. Not even if you give me a free stay and free flight to go. I don’t want to risk my life.
